Gift our next generation a Mandarin immersive learning experience

Did you know that Chinese is spoken by over 1.1 billion people in the whole world, making it the #2 most spoken language?

Did you also know that the SF Bay Area population is ~9% Chinese, but only ~1% of books in the libraries are in Chinese? There is a resource gap for the 630,000 Chinese population here to learn Chinese in an affordable way.

At the Little Bookworm Library, backed by The Joy Culture Foundation, we strive to make Chinese language and culture more accessible for the SF Bay Area residents and currently carry 6000+ Chinese Children's books.

60% of the Chinese speaking people in the SF Bay Area speak Cantonese. Given the population, we are hoping to add another 250+ Cantonese children's books for our community starting in 2025. Our hope is to help preserve and keep passing down the language and culture to our next generation.

Help us reach our goal of $5,000 by the end of 2024 to make this happen. Let us make Chinese learning more accessible, and bring more diversity to the SF Bay Area through children's education.

In January 2022, we brought our vision to life by establishing The Little Bookworm Library in Menlo Park, a free-standing Chinese children’s library that offers story time, arts & crafts, enrichment classes and cultural activities for the Bay Area community.
